We’ve had a great deal of interest in Meridian since we opened the book’s pre-order period in August with Vetro Editions, so a huge thank you to everybody who has pre-ordered or shared the book with their friends and family. I wanted to provide a quick update on our progress.
The last several weeks have been a constant stream of editing, proofing, tweaking, and ensuring every detail of the book is well crafted—including the paper stocks, binding, design, and final packaging. Although we had initially planned to start printing in early November and ship books to customers before Christmas, we ended up missing this window as we felt the book wasn’t quite perfect and still required some small revisions. Because of this delay, it is looking more likely that we will begin shipping in January.
On December 7th, the team and I will be visiting the printing press to ensure the first pass of the book meets our expectations. I will post some photos from our visit and another update on my blog at that time.
In total, this first issue of Meridian will consist of 1,000 editions, mirroring the digital collection. The book features over 250 pages of images, galleries, essays, out-of-band curations, and technical breakdowns. Creating a book of this size has been a massive project, and I’m grateful for the help of Vetro, Monopo, Park Communications, and others who are contributing to it.
Apologies for this delay—but I do hope it will be worth the wait!
